Kurdistan Pavilion Representing the Kurdistan Region at Gulfood 2026

The Board of Investment, through Invest Kurdistan (Foreign Direct Investment Unit), will participate in Gulfood 2026, taking place from January 26 to 30, 2026, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre – Expo City. The Kurdistan Pavilion will be located in the World Food Section, South Hall 1, Stand No. 5-72, marking the Kurdistan Region’s first official presence at Gulfood through a standalone pavilion, presenting the region as a unified and export-ready destination within the global food and agro-industrial sector.

A Strategic Step at Gulfood 2026

Under the supervision of H.E. Mr. Masrour Barzani and the Ninth Cabinet, and following the direction of Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Board of Investment, a strategic decision was taken to participate in Gulfood 2026 through a standalone Kurdistan Pavilion.

This marks a shift from company-level representation toward a cohesive regional presence, positioning the Kurdistan Region alongside country-led pavilions on the international stage.

Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Board of Investment, stated:

“We are participating in Gulfood because this is where serious conversations around food, production, and investment take place. Our goal is to position the Kurdistan Region as a leading investment destination capable of supplying growing consumer markets within Iraq and beyond.”

Why Participate at Gulfood?

Participation through a unified Kurdistan Pavilion enables the region to:

  • Present an official and cohesive national image

  • Strengthen international visibility for Kurdistan’s food and agro-industrial sectors

  • Support local companies through institutional and FDI-driven backing

  • Engage directly with global buyers, distributors, and partners

  • Position Kurdistan as a reliable, export-ready, and investment-friendly region

This approach places the Kurdistan Region alongside national pavilions from countries such as Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Italy, the Netherlands, and others participating in the World Food Section.

Participating Companies

The Kurdistan Pavilion at Gulfood 2026 features five local companies representing key segments of the food industry:

  • Shyaw Factory

  • Zom Dairy

  • Kavin Ltd.

  • Das Food Industrial

  • B-Honey Factory

Together, these companies demonstrate the quality, diversity, and growing production capacity of the Kurdistan Region’s food sector.

What is Gulfood?

Gulfood is one of the world’s largest and most influential food and beverage exhibitions, serving as a global platform where governments, national pavilions, producers, investors, distributors, and decision-makers convene to shape the future of food production, trade, and investment.

In previous years, representatives from the Kurdistan Region attended Gulfood as visitors, gaining exposure and institutional insight. Gulfood 2026 marks the first official participation of the Kurdistan Region through a standalone pavilion, reflecting a significant step forward in international engagement.

Launch of the Kurdistan National Brand

For the first time, the Board of Investment, through Invest Kurdistan (FDI Unit), has introduced a national brand identity for the Kurdistan Region under the name “Kurdistan.” The identity features a dedicated logo and color palette inspired by the region’s culture, natural resources, and people.

This national brand serves as an umbrella identity for Kurdistan’s participation in international exhibitions. It is applied to the Kurdistan Pavilion at Gulfood 2026 and will be carried forward to future global exhibitions, ensuring consistency, recognition, and stronger international positioning for local companies.

International Recognition in the Gulfood 2026 Show Planner

In the official Gulfood 2026 Show Planner, the Kurdistan Region is featured in the World Food Section, with its flag displayed alongside other participating countries. This inclusion reflects growing international recognition of the Kurdistan Region as an emerging participant in the global food and investment landscape.

Looking Ahead

Through its participation at Gulfood 2026, the Board of Investment and Invest Kurdistan (FDI Unit) reaffirms its commitment to:

  • Supporting local producers and exporters

  • Strengthening Kurdistan’s global economic presence

  • Building long-term international partnerships

The Kurdistan Pavilion at Stand 5-72, South Hall 1, stands as a symbol of confidence in the region’s capabilities, ambition, and future growth.
