Invest Kurdistan Official Launch

Invest Kurdistan, an investment attraction brand developed by the FDI unit of the Board of investment, celebrated its official launch on June 19, 2023 with an impressive event that highlighted the vast investment opportunities available in the region. The event, held in the capital city of Erbil, gathered numerous international and local investors, government officials, and business leaders and a US company delegation, signaling a strong start for Invest Kurdistan's mission to attract foreign investments.

Several high-ranking officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) were in attendance, including His Excellency Mr. Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government. He stated that “Our region's environment and geography are encouraging for investment in agriculture, tourism and industry. We have adopted a diversified economic policy, so we support diversified investments in all possible ways.”

Dr. Mohammed Shukri, the Chairman of Board of Investment  stated that “Kurdistan is the land of a thousand untold investment opportunities, through the invest Kurdistan’s website we promote Kurdistan region and its investment opportunities.”

Ibrahim Al-Baghdadi, the president of the economic council of Iraq and Steve Lutes, Vice President of Middle East Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gave a speech at the event. Steve lutes expressed his aspirations regarding the establishment of a collaborative workforce platform, particularly within the investment landscape of Kurdistan so that together we can become a major partner and try to invest in Kurdistan as a factor and motivation for all those who want to work in the region.

Invest Kurdistan's latest publication, the booklet about priority sectors was presented to the investors. Informative videos were featured regarding various sectors in KRG, and the website of Invest Kurdistan was officially launched by the Prime Minister. The event concluded with a productive networking session, facilitating valuable connections among attendees. These initiatives showcased Invest Kurdistan's commitment to providing investors with comprehensive insights and fostering collaboration within the Kurdistan region.
